Shannon Dunn is a retired veteran, RN. Shannon has nursing experience in many fields, including Labor and Delivery, Newborn Nursery, NICU, General Medical Surgical, ER, Psychiatric, Pediatrics and has been a Certified Diabetes Educator for many years. She was the Director of Diabetes Prevention program from 2008-2010 at the Chemawa Indian School in Salem, Oregon. Her total service time was 26 years for the Montana National Guard, Air Force, and the Commissioned Corps of Public Health. Shannon’s retirement rank 0-6/Colonel.
Post retirement, in 2018, Shannon and her husband relocated to Texas after maintaining residency in Colorado for 20 years. After living in Cleburne for a couple years, they moved to Central Texas, outside the town of Moody with their horses, dogs and cats. Horses and mastering skills and connection with horses, has been Shannon’s passion for many decades.
Although she is influenced by many horsewomen and men from past to present, the most influential clinicians and masters in her studies and practice have been Karen Rohlf, Dressage Naturally, Manolo Mendez Dressage, Anja Beran Dressage and James French’s Trust Technique, which has taught her animal healing and communication. From the ground to the saddle her hands-on horse training focuses on biomechanics, relaxation and Dressage. Shannon recently attended an EAGALA Training and became certified as an Equine Specialist. She offers a mini-course in Equine Bodywork and in-hand exercises. Shannon is proud to be a member of the Unbridled team and feels strongly that Unbridled is a tremendous asset and resource in the community.
